Job Summary

The 2nd Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in all core academic areas while integrating Catholic faith, values, and traditions into the curriculum. The teacher fosters spiritual, academic, and personal growth in a Christ-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities

Faith Formation :

• Model Catholic values and actively participate in the faith life of the school.

• Prepare students for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

• Integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values across the curriculum.

• Lead daily prayer and participate in school Masses and liturgical celebrations.

Instructional Duties :

• Plan, deliver, and assess standards-based lessons in core subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with IEPs or English language needs.

• Use various teaching strategies, technology, and assessments to engage students and track progress.

• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families.

Classroom Management :

• Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and structured learning environment.

• Implement positive behavior support systems aligned with school policies.

• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to support student success.

Professional Responsibilities :

• Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and school events.

• Participate in professional development and ongoing faith formation.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, staff, and parish community.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.

• Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred.

• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
