The Anesthesia Technician assists in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, ensuring the availability and proper functioning of anesthesia equipment. This role involves supporting anesthesiologists, residents, and CRNAs, operating specialized equipment like the cell-saver, and participating in advanced surgical cases. The technician also contributes to staff training and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including equipment preparation and patient monitoring.
- Communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to meet their needs.
- Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and central line catheter placements.
- Operate the cell-saver machine and keep track of lab reports during surgical cases.
- Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain specialized equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs.
- Train staff on the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologist.
- Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Set up rooms between cases and ensure full-service setup at the end of the day.
- Support ectopic procedures for anesthesia care.
- Provide backup to the shift supervisor in their absence.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
- BLS
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- A four-year college education, including related technical training; or a two-year college education which included technical training closely related to this position and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
Special Considerations:
- Some late nights until 7pm as needed (based on procedures)
Scheduling:
- Monday - Friday ONLY, no call, no holidays, no weekends
- 9am - 5:30pm
