Summary

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day planning, management, and execution of the digital marketing channels, including website, email, SMS in support of the PetSmart Charities digital marketing and communications strategy.  This role is also responsible for managing external digital marketing agency relationships and working closely with the PetSmart.com team to drive collaboration and engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Digital Marketing

• Works closely with the Integrated Marketing team, PetSmart Digital team, Programs team and retail/business partners to deliver on key objectives across PetSmart Charities and PetSmart digital ecosystems.
• Supports the planning, development and execution of all web, database marketing and email, delivering on the strategic/business objectives of the stakeholders. This may include, but is not limited to:
• Developing and scheduling emails in ActiveCampaign (email marketing system).
• Planning and executing email coding, scheduling, and automation workflows within ActiveCampaign.
• Updating landing pages and optimizing the user experience.
• Identifying critical conversion points and drop-off points and optimizing user funnels.
• Manages the relationship with an external digital marketing agency, ensuring seamless execution of digital marketing initiatives while overseeing a list of active workstreams.
• Manages and maintains the relationship with the PetSmart.com team , driving collaboration, innovation, and ideation to explore and implement new ways to engage users and increase donations through the PetSmart website.

Reporting & Analytics

• Measures and reports performance of all digital marketing and advertising campaigns and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs)
• Identifies trends and insights and makes recommendations for channel, platform and spend optimizations based on those insights
• Utilizes strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field or equivalent blend of relevant experience and education.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, or brand management.

Technical Skills

• Experience working in Content Management System (e.g. Drupal)
• Demonstrable experience managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email
• Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
• Implementing website designs with a mobile-first approach
• Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
• Experience working in email marketing platforms (eg. ActiveCampaign)
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development
• Must have the ability to simultaneously manage many projects and priorities
• Highly organized, collaborative work style and strong project management skills are essential
• Must demonstrate business acumen.
• Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Must possess outstanding organizational skills, including attention to detail
• Must demonstrate ability to build partnerships/relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging interpersonal skills to build trust
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite including experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Must demonstrate a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability and flexibility
