Choptank Electric Cooperative is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Fiber & Broadband Technician to join our broadband team. In this role, you'll be responsible for installing and supporting fiber broadband connections and delivering an excellent customer experience throughout our service territory.
Install and activate broadband services in homes and businesses.
Use OTDRs, light meters, and other tools to test, splice, and troubleshoot fiber connections.
Set up routers, ONTs, wireless gateways, and extenders to ensure optimal connectivity.
Maintain accurate service records and manage equipment inventory.
Deliver professional, courteous, and high-quality customer service.
Assist with coaxial systems related to broadband when needed.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with LAN/Wi-Fi setup, fiber splicing, and broadband troubleshooting preferred.
Familiarity with OSP (Outside Plant) maintenance and fiber schematics.
Excellent communication, organization, and computer/tablet skills.
Valid Maryland Class C driver's license and DOT medical card required; Class A CDL preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, crawl/attic spaces).
Hourly rate of $29.48
