The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care according to established treatment plans. This role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, appropriate state licensure, and certifications such as BLS and NPI enrollment. Description
The staff Physical Therapist Assistant functions under the supervision of the rehabilitation leadership team and the department director. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides direct patient/client care under general supervision of the therapist responsible for the specific patient's/client's plan of care. The staff Physical Therapist Assistant assumes responsibility and accountability for providing physical therapy treatment as determined by a plan of care established by a Physical Therapist in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
