Quality Engineering Associate I Location McLean, VA :

Position Overview:

Are you a budding software developer looking to experience how software is developed in real-world projects while enhancing your skills by learning new technologies and putting them into practice? Freddie Mac's Quality Engineering Center of Excellence is seeking a new Associate to join our team of researchers, advisors, and implementers to advance software testing and quality assurance here at Freddie Mac.

Our Impact:

• The Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (QE CoE) serves development efforts throughout Freddie Mac to improve our testing and quality engineering practices.
• We research and experiment with new QE technologies.
• We support testing and quality engineering across the enterprise with expertise, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance.

Your Impact:

• Assist developers across Freddie Mac to conduct software testing quicker and more efficiently.
• Research technologies and disseminate knowledge to testers and developers,
• Demonstrate best practices and methods
• Bring the cutting edge of quality engineering into use within our walls.

Qualifications:

• An Associate degree in Computer Science or related field
• 0 - 2 years of professional experience
• A background in software development, preferably at an associate degree level, ideally having delivered software at a project or personal level
• Familiarity with programming languages and software architecture
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is a bonus, as is any knowledge in related topics such as databases and SQL, data networking, continuous integration, containers, cloud technologies, etc.

Keys to Success in this Role:

• The ability to quickly absorb and implement software development technologies, e.g. programming languages and frameworks
• Collaboration skills are key as the position involves working with development teams across the organization
• Willingness to present material to large audiences
• A proactive attitude towards solving problems and achieving goals

Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $56,000 - $84,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
